WHAT DOES IT COST TO INSTRUCT US?

In most cases we charge for our time, although some matters attract a fixed price and some Public Guardianship Office work is at a price determined by the Public Guardianship Office.

These rates are reviewed annually and clients are notified in advance of changes:

  • We can set limits on individual matters at your request and notify you when these have been reached. No further work would then be carried out until you instructed us to do so.

  • For the preparation of a simple pair of wills for a husband and wife we charge £250 plus VAT.

  • More complex wills are charged at the hourly rate - for example, discretionary trust wills are charged at  £500-£600 per pair (to include severence of joint tenancy when needed).

  • For the administration of estates our charges depend upon the complexity, the time taken and the overall value (and therefore responsibility) of the estate. As a general rule of thumb our charges are between 2.5% and 4% of the gross estate (before tax), but excluding the value of any house left by the deceased for which a nominal sum may be added.

You can contact any of the fee earners individually by e-mail by using the contacts on the firms profile page.
