Charlotte joined the Private Client Department of Gedye & Sons in 2012. She specialises in drafting and preparing Wills, estate planning, estate administration, and Lasting Powers of Attorney. Charlotte is also experienced in mental capacity issues and with dealing with Court of Protection matters. She also acts jointly as an Independent Administrator.
Before embarking upon a legal career Charlotte was a freelance television Line Producer for 12 years. In the 6 years prior to joining the firm she was a legal and business affairs executive at Mark Butler Associates, an event management company.
Having originally gained a BA in Drama and English (with a qualified teacher status) from Warwick University, Charlotte later obtained her Post Graduate Diploma in Law whilst still working and prior to commencing her training contract. Her interest in law evolved as a result of her close bond to her father, His Honour Gerald Butler QC who died in 2010.
Charlotte’s passions include reading, going to the theatre, watching films, visiting galleries, baking and spending time with her 2 young children and her (award winning) cinematographer husband, Jeremy.
Charlotte is also an avid fund raiser for Cancer Research, taking part in the annual Race for Life since the tragic loss of her brother through cancer in 2007.
