Emma joined the Private Client department in July 2016 and specialises in estate planning and administration, and the preparation of wills and powers of attorney. She is a Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and is currently undertaking the STEP Diploma in Advising Vulnerable Clients. She has a particular interest in elderly client law and mental capacity issues.
Born and raised in Cumbria, she obtained a degree in Sociology from the University of York before continuing on to obtain her Law degree by way of studying a two year law conversion course at the York College of Law. She received her LL.B (Hons) in 2007.
Following university Emma has worked in both private practice and local government, undertaking her legal training at a firm in the Yorkshire Dales. She qualified in May 2015.
Further legal experience includes residential conveyancing as well as landlord and tenant law.
Now resident near Kendal she counts travel, wine and country walks amongst her interests – the latter particularly where there is a good pub en route!
